Day 3 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas was our first sea day and it also happened to be St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀 In today’s vlog, we share everything from relaxing spa treatments and crowded pool decks to specialty dining at Chops Grille and our son making new friends onboard.
We started the morning by dropping Rider off at Adventure Ocean so we could enjoy the Rasul Spa Treatment at the Vitality Spa. If you’ve never tried this couples spa experience on Royal Caribbean, it’s a private self-guided treatment that combines steam, mineral-rich muds, exfoliation, and tropical rain showers. It was such a unique and relaxing experience, and definitely something we recommend booking early, especially on sea days because appointments fill up FAST!
After the spa, we headed to the pool deck, which was incredibly crowded. We later found out Deck 16 had been closed due to high winds, forcing everyone to relocate to the main pool areas. Even guests with private casitas had their reservations canceled because of the weather.
We spent the afternoon at the pool, grabbed lunch at the Windjammer, and relaxed around the Boardwalk. Rider ended up meeting new friends onboard and went cruise duck hunting around the ship with them! As parents, we loved seeing him make friends and enjoy some independence, even if it made us a little nervous.
That evening was Formal Night aboard Oasis of the Seas, and we had reservations at Chops Grille for a special family dinner. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t go quite as planned. Despite having a 6:15 PM reservation, we weren’t seated until after 7 PM, and dinner lasted nearly two hours. While our server was wonderful, the restaurant definitely seemed understaffed that night. After this experience, we actually decided to cancel our second specialty dining reservation later in the cruise.
Even with a few hiccups, it was still a memorable and fun sea day aboard one of Royal Caribbean’s most popular Oasis Class ships!
